Injection-moulding of fluoroplastic materials is not easy because fluorine vapours are released during the processing of fluoroplastics. The injection-moulding parts (such as moulds) must be able to withstand this.

Virtually all thermoplastics, including PEEK and PFA, are injection-mouldable. PTFE is not injection-mouldable as standard; however, it is possible to supply a modified PTFE that is suitable for injection-moulding which is useful when you need to take advantage of the positive properties of PTFE.
